20 years Web: What's next?
Twenty years ago Tim Berners-Lee filed as an employee of the Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire (CERN) to his superiors a proposal for a computer system that the targeted access would facilitate the many researchers Approximate results of the CERN by It linked this site via links to each other. That moment is now regarded as the birth of the World Wide Web. In addition to the basic idea of such a network and the development of language (HTML), the Protocol (HTTP) and URIs (URLs today) is mainly the co-founder and co the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) as his most important contribution to success of the WWW to see.
If I did realize at some point that I made up with his early thirties, the system, which now takes place the bulk of the business and an increasing part of social life, I would a Greek island (or a bay or at least a house, allegedly Berners-Lee has financially benefited from his performance never especially) now and in the knowledge that nothing can get considerably more, olive blinking, chewing into the sunset. Precisely because of this setting, but I will probably never make appropriate inventions. And designed Berners-Lee still great ideas, especially to what might follow on the Web as we know it and presented them here and there, for example on a TED Conference . Less specific than twenty years ago, a little less convincing, but still very interesting and entertaining.

IA Conference 2009: The speakers and their presentations
has before yesterday January Jursa on behalf of the organizing team, the speakers of IA Conference 2009 and their papers published. Overall, very promising. There is no program in terms of timing it yet, probably again be several sessions held parallel, so at this point already out my personal recommendations:
Claudia Armbrüster , Head of User Experience Architecture at Syzygy in Bad Homburg, presented the study "From Google to the application range - the recommendations for the usability of contract shops she has co-authored with Anja Rau and Catherine Horst. The study was published in the annual Usability monitor from Syzygy and is available as a PDF download available.
Anja Rau sailed recently as Senior User Experience Planner under the flag of Leo Burnett and holds the conference along with Björn Brockmann that bears the same title, a presentation on "Global IA for global brands." increasingly important and often underestimated. equipped
Jutta grain , Group Head of Information Architecture at Tribal DDB and with nearly ten years of professional experience in the daily newspaper Hamburger Abendblatt in the series "What's really a ..." already represented the profession of information architecture and leads the conference in their contribution to the question "The information architect? Coach or director" further. Certainly, especially for students who are just approaching this work, very interesting.
Patrick Roelofs was the predecessor of Jutta grain at Tribal DDB and the agency he co-founded eparo . Perhaps the reason that the title of the lecture, which he holds together with subsidence Petersen, Team Leader User Experience at XING , which follows the same form of a question: "IA and Agile Software Development: a difficult relationship?" A topic that is currently discussed very much, and consequently has been included in the article "Agile User Centered Design" by Oliver Emmler and Wolf Nöding of InterComponentWare is. is
Holger Deist Methods from the UX team of SAP with Wolfgang Teuscher, a very detailed model of the present "Visual Modeling in the UCD process. Concentrated ten years of experience in the definition of UX processes.
Wolfgang Tittmann , User Experience Director at Neue Digitale / Razorfish and John Kleske same place, Information Architect and lecturer in social software at the FH Darmstadt , explaining "The User Ecosystem: How UX, Media and Social Media grow together ".

4th IA Cocktail Hour at Frankfurt
With 16 years to get lost in search of his role models now and again, so I was not only admired Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas as Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs in Miami Vice under the eternal sun of Florida (which I refused slippers in the 80s always), but Tom Cruise and Bryan Brown as Brian Flanagan and Douglas Coughlin in the film cocktail (actually only up to the point in the movie, at the Bryan Brown to recognize that, in regard to women true love is more important than the fact that they are rich, and blonde and Manhattan party animals, leaves). That the stay in bars would be now after all so closely connected with my professional activities, albeit not as a bartender, then as information architect and designer, was not expected and is therefore more gratifying. I will be on the evening of 03.05.2009 in Frankfurt Moksha in Northrend (Rotlintstrasse 28) for fourth on the IA Cocktail Hour participate. The invitation of Wolf Nöding and Norbert Hadwiger addressed to all "information architects and other interested parties in and around Frankfurt" who exchange technical, make their networks more closely meet again or just old colleagues do.

User Experience Deliverables
Contributions may in his blog not always the level of information architecture undisputed classic, with the polar bear on the cover . Keep Yesterday Peter Morville but there has a refreshingly concise and yet very complete and publish each with examples, list of deliverables that play in the context of the user experience design process involved. All through the (imaginary) glasses of an information architect and considered without claiming to represent the development process itself or the specific context. And it is therefore very useful.
